The staff of the Department consists of 33 teachers and researchers. The research area of the Department covers a wide range of problems including systematics, morphology, ultrastructure, development, molecular taxonomy, phylogeny and ecology of all Invertebrate taxa from protists to hemichordates. The results of researches are published in international and Russian scientific magazines. Since 2004, the Department of Invertebrate Zoology publishes the scientific journal INVERTEBRATE ZOOLOGY. The journal accepts papers in Russian and English languages and all issues are freely available in Internet.
