Aleksandra A. Lvova

Aleksandra A. Lvova was born in Moscow in 1929. At the end of 1941 she was evacuated in Tambov with the group of collaborators escorted Zoological Exhibition N15. They traveled in the freight train all together with the animals in small transportable cages. In August 1941 the group was moved in Penza, and at the beginning of the winter – far further in Novosibirsk. Here they lived in a menagerie in small lodgings located nearby the animal’s cages and helped to take care about the animals.
In November 1943 A.Lvova came back to Moscow and continued her school education. During the whole summer time of 1944 she was working in the collective farm “Penkino” in Zaraisk district of Moscow region. In 1948 A.A. Lvova became a student of Potemkin Moscow State Pedagogical Institute and graduated from the institution with the honors in 1952. For the first time A. Lovova visited The White Sea area on the Ladeiny Island in 1949, and in 1952-1953 years she had the luck to work as a laboratory technician in the “Plancton” group consisting in the 13-th expedition of the research vessel    “ Vityaz” under the lead of the famous Professor of Ichthyology T.S.Rass.
 Since January 1954 A. Lvova became an employee of the Sea department at The Earth Science Museum at Lomonosov Moscow State University. During the summer of this year together with the museum curator K.S. Kuzminskaya she made her the first visit to TheWhite Sea Biological Station. During this expedition multiple examples of invertebrate animals have been collected and were later included into “The White Sea Biocenosis” exhibition.
 In the fall of 1954 A. Lvova started her work in the Department Zoology of Invertebrates,  Faculty of Biology at Lomonosov Moscow State University in the group under the leadership of N.Yu.Sokolova, and participated in numeral scientific projects devoted to the investigation of biocenosis of the natural and wildlife reservoirs.
In 1977 A.A. Lvova was awarded with an academic degree (Ph.D.) for the thesis “Ecology of Dreissena polymorpha Pall. in the reservoir Uchinskoe”
